Welcome to the official YAM Support SiteThis is the home of YAM (short for Yet Another Mailer), the open-source mail user agent (MUA) for AmigaOS based computer systems. Here we're proud to present the results of our ongoing development on YAM and provide our users a modern web-based platform to get support for their daily use of their favourite mail client. Please note, that these pages are fully dynamic and are generated out of a wiki engine to which any user can contribute. So, if you feel you can make this place a better place also for other users, you can request your own account from us so that you can edit the secured content of these pages as well. However, there are also pages around here to which you can contribute without having any permissions. So please, do contribute... Your YAM Open-Source Team.

26 December 2009 - Discussion forum updated...
Due to some recent problems with SPAMbots and obvious problems with the YAM online discussion forum, the phpBB software package has now been updated to its very latest version. Besides reduced SPAM accounts this should hopefully also improve the general handling and usage of the discussion forum. So in case you haven't registered yet for the online discussion forum, please feel free to do so under http://forum.yam.ch/ as any help is appreciated to discuss recent problems and suggestions for YAM in this online platform.
23 December 2007 - YAM 2.5 final stable version released...
The YAM (Yet Another Mailer) open source development team is pleased to announce the immediate release of its stable 2.5 version. After nearly 5 years of constant, restless development, the 2.5 version is the currently most stable and most advanced version of the famous Amiga e-mail suite. The 2.5 version, apart from very important bug fixes, comes with a largely enhanced user interface with new capabilities like, e.g. an embedded read pane functionality to directly read e-mails without having to open separate read windows. Or even a new search bar allows to quickly search for e-mails or sort them according to predefined categories. Furthermore, YAM was largely reworked internally to perform not only more securely and less cumbersomely. It also comes with important technical enhancements like non-blocking I/O based socket connections allowing the GUI to become more responsive or improved compatibility to common internet standards (RFC). In addition, large internal reworks were performed to be able to implement features like IMAP support or native HTML mail display in one of the next versions. Therefore, we are indeed very happy to supply you this stable 2.5 release not only right before Christmas, but also right before we are going to start on working on some more interesting things in the upcoming year. Enjoy the 2.5 version and happy yamming...
23 November 2007 - YAM 2.5 sneak preview available with AmigaOS4...
The YAM developer team is proud to announce that in cooperation with Hyperion Entertainment, the upcoming release of the 'Classic' version of AmigaOS4 (to be released on 30th November) will come with an official sneak preview version of YAM 2.5. This version will be PowerPC native, comes with a fully working default installation and was contributed to allow users of AmigaOS4 to have a look at the current state of the development of YAM 2.5. In addition, we hope to get some more feedback from those users having installed the sneak preview so that we can finalise our development on YAM 2.5 and release a stable version soon. So please stay tuned and enjoy the sneak preview version waiting for you on the 'Classic' release of AmigaOS4.
21 February 2007 - New 'Online-FAQ' service available...
To improve the support for our users, we provide a new web-based service - our 'Online-FAQ' website. It replaces the previously static FAQ pages with a modern web service. By using this new dynamic FAQ website, users can directly ask questions via the new http://faq.yam.ch/ website and see them publically viewable after one of our administrator have approved and answered those questions. In addition, users can propose own FAQ questions and answers, comment on existing ones or just browse through the existing ones. So please enjoy the new service and feel free to contribute by asking questions, answering open ones or by proposing own FAQ entries.
05 March 2006 - Switched to subversion (SVN) services...
Now that sourceforge.net has finally provided subversion source-code management facilities, the YAM project is proud to announce that we successfully switched from the old and limited CVS repository use to the more modern subversion (SVN) services. This will hopefully improve our development process as subversion is definitely a huge improvement over CVS. Please have a look at our Source code (SVN) page for more detailed information.
27 May 2005 - Status report and Donations received...
It has been a while since the last official news about YAM. But you can be sure that we are making very good progress in finalizing the next upcoming stable release for you. We are currently nailing down the last bits and bytes of the functionality and are certain that we can ship 2.5 during this summer. And to give you an idea of how motivated we are and how you can motivate us in future as well, we have generated a separate page about how you may contribute to our project by donating us some cents via PayPal. And here we definitely have to mention Andreas Loong (Guru Meditation) who donated the tremendous amount of $250 to our development team. Thanks for supporting OpenSource development, Andreas!
